MARFRAN E C2, A2 and A2F are part of a family of styrene-based compounds (TPE-S) specifically designed for bi-material components where TPE is molded on styrene polymers such as PS, SAN, ABS, ASA and relative mixtures (ie PC/ABS).
Thermoplastic elastomers can be overprinted on styrene based polymers in different applications:
in the furnishing and design sector (chairs, tables, lights, windows, showers), in the automotive sector (bumper parts, ailerons, mud flaps), in the sport and leisure sector and in mechanical instruments and tools (soft touch, high grip and non-slip handles).
The three different types of materials are available in a wide range of hardnesses but have different characteristics: the MARFRAN E C2 is suitable for food contact and is recommended in applications where exposure to UV rays is not predicted, except in the colored version. MARFRAN E A2 and A2F have improved UV resistance both for the industrial version (A2) and for the food contact version (A2F) and can be used in their natural color.
Material | Hardness (Shore A) | Food Contact Grade | UV Resistance |
MARFRAN E C2 | 40 ÷ 90 | YES | + |
MARFRAN E A2 | 50 ÷ 90 | NO | +++ |
MARFRAN E A2F | 50 ÷ 85 | YES | +++ |
Besides the standard material presented, our technicians will be able to customize our compounds in order to adapt them to specific requests.
